[1,2] Orally ingested ciprofloxacin HCL have some limitations that is gastrointestinal adverse effect, interaction between the food and drug, variable in absorption of drug of ciprofloxacin HCL and show reduction in the bioavailability due to first pass metabolism. Due to this reason ciprofloxacin HCL buccal film show prominent effect on therapeutic effect as compare to convectional dosage form. [3,4] Buccal drug delivery system shows effective alternative way as compare to orally administered drug and show the effective alternative route to show drug absorption in buccal region and also avoid first pass metabolism and hence improve its bioavailability. [6,7] There are more approaches of buccal delivery but the buccal film has shown more significance than ease of drug Administration of accurate dosing and increased patient compliance, prolonged residence duration at application sites. [8,10] Usage of polymer of ciprofloxacin HCL buccal film such as hydroxypropyl, methylcellulose, polypropylene, chitosan, and Carbopol facilitate control drug release and enhance mucosal adhesion. [11,12] Ciprofloxacin extensively used in treatment of respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, soft tissue infections, skin infections, and also bone and joint infections due to its broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity and strong Bactericidal effect. As compared to therapeutic effectiveness the conventional oral administration of ciprofloxacin HCl has shown several pharmacokinetic and pharmaceutical limitations that is gastrointestinal irritation, food drug interaction, drug absorption variability, and reduce systematic bioavailability of drug due to hepatic first pass metabolism. Apart from the primary microbes, secondary microbes such as Staphylococcus aureus which is a type of bacteria have also been found to contribute to the development of acne vulgaris. Traditional treatments have often been linked to adverse effects and antimicrobial resistance, hence prompting researchers to look for safer and alternative sources of acne treatment, especially from plant sources. Celosia argentea Linn., (Family: Amaranthaceae), popularly referred to as the Silver Cockscomb or Kurdu in some cultural practices, is an annual medicinal herb with a rich history of usage in herbal medicine across parts of Asia and Africa. The seeds, found in both Ayurvedic and Chinese Pharmacopoeias, possess several pharmacologically-active components such as flavonoids, saponins, betalains, tannins, and phenolic compounds, responsible for their anti-microbial, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant activities. The current study was conducted to assess the efficacy of an ethanol extract of C. argentea seed and develop a dermal formulation for it. The antibacterial effects of the extract as well as the formulation were determined through an agar well diffusion test using Staphylococcus aureus. The formulated dermal preparation was further assessed based on several physicochemical parameters, namely, pH, viscosity, spreadability, homogeneity, and stability. The study results revealed that the Celosia argentea seed extract possessed significant antibacterial properties against S. aureus and had high potential as an active ingredient in plant-based anti-acne topical products. A scientific foundation for creating topical formulations that support both skin health and psychological well-being is provided by the idea of neurocosmetics, which combines dermatological advantages with neurosensory reactions. Moringa oil, neem oil, rice bran oil, and a few essential oils were combined with a glycerin or goat milk base to create the herbal soap. These ingredients were chosen because of their established antibacterial, emollient, antioxidant, and skin-conditioning qualities. The goal of the formulation strategy was to strike the ideal balance between skin compatibility and cleansing effectiveness. In contrast, essential oils may have an impact on sensory pathways linked to wellbeing and relaxation. Standard physicochemical and biological criteria were used to assess the prepared herbal soap. While foaming capacity and stability evaluated the effectiveness of cleaning, pH was examined to guarantee skin friendliness. Spreadability and solubility were evaluated to determine ease of application and durability. Consistency in color, odor, and texture under various circumstances was verified by stability studies.Biological assessments included antibacterial activity to evaluate efficacy against skin infections and antioxidant activity to ascertain the capacity to scavenge free radicals. Studies on skin irritation showed that the formulation was safe to use topically and did not cause any irritation. To sum up, the research shows that herbal bioactive compounds can be successfully integrated into soap formulations, resulting in safe, stable, and effective neurocosmetic products that provide both skin care benefits and sensory enhancement for a holistic approach to skincare. The composite patch mimics the skin's natural extracellular matrix using an electrospun polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) nanofiber layer and a sodium alginate-gelatinee hydrogel base. It co-delivers tranexamic acid within the hydrogel to target hyperpigmentation and copper tripeptide-1 embedded in the nanofibers to promote organized collagen remodelling. Physicochemical evaluations revealed a skin-compatible pH of 5.5, high swelling capacity for optimal moisture retention, and an 83.55% gel fraction ensuring structural durability. Scanning electron microscopy confirmed a uniform, bead-free nanofiber network, while FTIR analysis validated the chemical stability and successful loading of the active ingredients. In vitro studies demonstrated a controlled, sustained biphasic drug release profile and verified antimicrobial efficacy against Staphylococcus aureus. The dual-drug composite system successfully provides a safe, structurally robust, and biomimetic platform for accelerated tissue regeneration and scar reduction. Thiazoles are privileged chemotypes having been proved their antibacterial and antifungal effects towards multidrug-resistant bacteria such as Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus as well as opportunistic fungi. In the current research, two novel thiazoles (TH01 and TH02) have been synthesized through the Hantzsch-type cyclization reaction using thiosemicarbazides as the starting point; structure elucidation was achieved using FTIR and LC-MS techniques. Mapping the scientific publications (2023-2026) showed an explosive increase in the number of papers discussing the application of thiazoles as antimicrobials. Network pharmacological approach to the new compound TH02 in combination with data from GeneCards, STRING, GO, and KEGG enrichment analysis suggested the following hub-targets as main targets (EGFR, SRC, MAPK14, PTGS1, FYN, LCK); moreover, many host-related signaling pathways involved in immunity, inflammation, and infection processes can be considered targets for TH02 during E. coli and S. aureus infections. Molecular docking with several protein structures (5EQG, 1YOL, 3LCK, 2A4Z) revealed that TH02 had much better binding energy compared to the reference drug fluconazole, which indicates its multimodal nature.Item In silico doking, formulation and evaluation of quince and liquorice phytosomal nanosuspension for ulcers(AIKTC, 2026-06) Qureshi, Maryam; Khan Aafreen Murtaza (22PH27); Khan Abdullah Trabullah (22PH29); Khan Aafiya AbdulQayyum (22PH30); Khan Huda Matiulhaq (22PH35); Khan Noorin Khalid (22PH41)Peptic ulcer disease is a common gastrointestinal issue caused by an imbalance between harmful factors like gastric acid, pepsin, and Helicobacter pylori, and protective mechanisms of the gastric lining. Traditional treatments can be effective but often lead to side effects and recurrence. This creates a need for safer and more effective options. This study looks at developing a herbal phytosomal nanosuspension using quince seed (Cydonia oblonga) and liquorice (Glycyrrhiza glabra) to manage ulcers. The study included in silico molecular docking of selected plant compounds against the ulcer-related target protein (PDB ID: 5YLU) using AutoDock Vina. Of the selected compounds, Amygdaloside had the highest binding affinity at -8.0 kcal/mol, while Saringosterol had -7.7 kcal/mol, indicating strong anti-ulcer potential. Based on the docking results, the chosen herbal extracts were incorporated into a phytosomal nanosuspension using the bottom-up nanoprecipitation method. The formulation was tested for sensory properties, pH, viscosity, particle size, and zeta potential. The nanosuspension showed good physical stability, acceptable pH, uniform appearance, and satisfactory viscosity suitable for oral use. The combination of quince seed and liquorice exhibited strong gastroprotective, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and healing properties. Therefore, the formulated phytosomal nanosuspension may offer a promising herbal method for managing ulcers with better bioavailability and effectiveness.Item Network pharmacology approach to study bryophyllum pinnatum in urolithiasis(AIKTC, 2026-05) Ziyaul Haque; Dalvi, Iqra Nadeem (22PH09); Deshmukh, Khadija Juned (22PH12); Khan, Tahreem Firoj Asgari (22PH42); Qureshi, Misba Farooque (22PH59); Shaikh, Rehana Md Ibrahim (22PH91)ABSTRACT Urolithiasis, commonly referred to as kidney stone disease, represents one of the most prevalent and recurrent urological disorders worldwide, affecting approximately 10-15% of the global population. The condition is characterized by the formation of solid crystalline deposits within the urinary tract, arising from the supersaturation of minerals such as calcium, oxalate, and uric acid. Despite advances in surgical and pharmacological interventions, the high recurrence rate and associated morbidity necessitate the exploration of novel therapeutic strategies, particularly those derived from natural sources with established ethnopharmacological use. Bryophyllum pinnatum (Family: Crassulaceae), commonly known as Patthar Chatta or Kalanchoe pinnata, has been extensively employed in traditional medicine systems across Asia and Africa for the management of kidney stones and urinary disorders. However, the precise molecular mechanisms underlying its anti-urolithiatic activity remain incompletely characterized. The present study employed an integrated network pharmacology and molecular docking approach to systematically elucidate the multi-component, multi-target, and multi-pathway mechanisms of Bryophyllum pinnatum in urolithiasis. A total of 30 phytochemical constituents were retrieved from Dr. Duke's Phytochemical and Ethnobotanical Database, of which five compounds- Kaempferol (BP15), Quercetin (BP26), Beta-sitosterol (BP6), Alpha-amyrin (BP4), and Citric acid (BP9) were selected following drug-likeness screening based on Lipinski's Rule of Five using Swiss ADME. Potential molecular targets for each compound were predicted using Swiss Target Prediction, while disease-associated targets for urolithiasis were retrieved from Gene Cards. Overlapping targets between compound and disease target sets were identified through Venn diagram analysis, yielding compound-specific common target lists. Protein-protein interaction (PPI) networks were constructed using the STRING database and visualized in Cytoscape, with Quercetin emerging as the hub compound exhibiting the highest degree of connectivity. Pathway enrichment analysis via KEGG identified key biological pathways including Nitrogen metabolism, Estrogen signaling, Relaxin signaling, IL-17 signaling, Metabolic pathways, and Renal cell carcinoma as significantly enriched.Item Development and evaluation of multigrain protein-enriched herbal meal replacement therapy for obesity management: an in-silico and in-vitro study(AIKTC, 2026-05) Baig, Anwar; Ghole, Sahar Junaid (22PH64); Sayed, Tazeen Zahra Zaheer Asad (22PH65); Shetty, Sharad Raveendra (22PH96); Sunera, Salim Ali Mohd. Kausar (22PH101); Tripathi, Tanu Ved Prakash (22PH103)In an era where obesity and lifestyle disorders like diabetes and hypertension are surging due to sedentary habits, processed foods, and stress especially in urban India this study develops and evaluates a multigrain, protein-enriched meal replacement porridge as a practical therapy for obesity management. Using locally sourced superfoods like bajra (pearl millet), ragi (finger millet), pea protein, gorakhmundi, cocoa powder, date powder, stevia, almond powder, and cardamom, the formulation promotes satiety via low glycaemic index fibres, supports lean mass preservation with branched-chain amino acids, enhances fat metabolism through anti-inflammatory bio actives, and boosts palatability for better adherence .all while being affordable and gut-friendly. Saif (22PH86); Shaikh, Uzma Firdous (22PH95)Migraine is a chronic, recurrent neurovascular disorder characterized by pulsating headache episodes accompanied by sensory, neurological and autonomic disturbances. Mucoadhesive buccal films are designed to adhere to the buccal mucosa and provide rapid and efficient systemic drug delivery by bypassing hepatic first-pass metabolism. This route offers significant advantages in the management of migraine, particularly during acute attacks associated with nausea and vomiting, where oral administration becomes less effective. The present study aims to develop and evaluate a mucoadhesive buccal film for the treatment of migraine using herbal extracts.The buccal films were formulated using suitable film-forming polymers such as hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC) and polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) by the solvent casting method. Standardized extracts of Zingiber officinale (ginger) and Tanacetum parthenium (feverfew) were incorporated into the formulation for their synergistic anti-migraine activity. The prepared films were smooth, flexible, and exhibited uniform drug distribution, ensuring ease of application and patient comfort.The formulated buccal films were evaluated for physicochemical and mechanical properties including thickness, weight uniformity, folding endurance, surface pH, swelling behavior, drug content uniformity, and mucoadhesive strength. In vitro drug release studies demonstrated rapid onset and effective release of active constituents. The films showed good mucoadhesion, adequate mechanical strength, and fast disintegration, facilitating quick drug absorption through the buccal mucosa.Overall, the developed mucoadhesive buccal film represents a promising, natural, and patient-friendly alternative to conventional migraine therapies. It offers rapid relief, improved bioavailability, and enhanced patient compliance, making it a potential approach for both acute and preventive management of migraine. Collagen, the most abundant structural protein in the human body, plays an essential role in maintaining tissue structure and elasticity as well as hydration. However, with aging, the natural production of this molecule by the organism declines, leading to wrinkles, dehydration, and loss of skin elasticity. Glutathione, an essential intracellular antioxidant responsible for detoxification, elimination of free radicals, and cellular vitality, is also notable for its hydrating properties and its ability to reduce melanin production. Existing collagen and glutathione supplements are often associated with undesirable taste, non-compliance, and limited bioavailability. Alternative delivery systems are currently studied to enhance patients' adherence to the treatment, particularly among the younger population. The present study focuses on the formulation and pharmacological evaluation of a herbal hair protective hydrogel incorporating a synergistic blend of natural bioactive ingredients and therapeutic agents for comprehensive hair care management. The formulation was developed using herbal extracts of Nigella sativa (black seed), Eclipta alba (bhringraj), Phyllanthus emblica (amla), Camellia sinensis (green tea), and Salvia rosmarinus (rosemary), along with L-Tyrosine and Copper(II) acetate as key active pharmaceutical ingredients to support melanin synthesis and promote hair follicle health. The hydrogel was formulated using an appropriate gelling system to ensure optimal physicochemical stability, ease of application, and enhanced scalp adherence. The prepared formulation was evaluated for various parameters including appearance, pH, viscosity, spreadability, homogeneity, stability, and compatibility. Pharmacological evaluation was performed to assess its potential antioxidant and hair protective activity. The combination of herbal bioactives and targeted active ingredients demonstrated promising potential for reducing oxidative damage, supporting natural hair pigmentation, strengthening hair follicles, and improving overall scalp health. Also, it is infamously consumed along with tobacco for ages. The purpose of this investigation was to determine lethal concentration 10 (LC10) and study the hepatoprotective activity of Edible lime on the zebrafish model. LC10 value of Edible lime was calculated by using probit analysis, and it was found to be 95.49 mg/L. Liver toxicity was induced in zebrafish larvae by using paracetamol. Liver atrophy, yolk sac retention, increase in optical density of liver, increased in the level of AST and ALT revealed paracetamol-induced liver toxicity in zebrafish larvae. The Edible lime showed a significant increase in liver size, and decrease in yolk sac retention, reduced liver degeneration, reduced AST and ALT level. Among all the different medications antibiotics are most commonly prescribed in every disease state. Teratogenic and toxicity studies of different antibiotics to date have demonstrated significant effects in both animal models and clinical studies. The purpose of this investigation was to determine lethal concentration 10 (LC10), hatchability, mortality, and heart rate and study the teratogenic effect and toxicity of Erythromycin in the zebrafish model. Probit analysis is used to calculate LC10 value , and it was found to be 44.66 mg/L. In the case of Erythromycin hatchability decreases with increasing dose, mortality increases with increasing dose, and heart rate decreases with increasing dose. However, no effect was observed on the morphological characteristics in developing embryos of zebrafish larvae. Hence to overcome this problem we selected a material known as date seed powder which showed number of properties in all aspects. The absorbing properties of the date seed powder made us understand its role as a very powerful adsorbent for various practical aspects. The phytochemical screening which was performed showed us the exact estimation of the pigments that are present in the date seed powder. The stability studies and the coloring properties of the date seed powder helped us to understand the importance and the use of the natural pigments which were present in the biowaste pit. Medication in the form of tablets is already available in the market but has disadvantages like: when taken orally as it reacts with the stomach acidic pH causing heartburn and belching and patients with existing liver disease suffer more with NSAIDs used for RA. Introduction of the Transdermal drug delivery system over the last few decades have changed the perspective of the prescriber and also the patient’s compliance is well taken care of. Here, in this study the transdermal drug delivery system in accordance with Nanoparticles with Solid Lipid as carrier with surfactant/polymer and drug used in Arthritis. INDOMETHACIN is clearly observed and studied for further evaluation. Studies also show that drugs like Indomethacin and Estradiol, when studied in rat models, were able to be enhanced when incorporated into Nanoparticles. Method by which the entire study was performed was with the help of Probe Sonicator that works on the principle of high intensity ultrasound waves to break bigger particle agglomerates into smaller ones. Suitable methods are HIGH PRESSURE HOMOGENISER and SOLVENT EVAPORATION METHOD. With High pressure homogeniser, problems such as low efficiency of product process were found out, but with Solvent Evaporation method, the sonication process went easily. Evaluation parameters of nanoparticles formulation are: 1) Particle Size Determination by Zetasizer as an instrument 2) Gel formulations are pH determination, Spreading coefficient, Viscosity, Visual appearance & Clarity.
