This paper presents the results of an effort to develop and design an IR of Anjuman-i-Islam’s Kalsekar Technical Campus (AIKTC), New Panvel, India. The web performance of AIKTC institutional repositories is examined. Its performance in archiving and sharing based on the Ranking Web of Repositories (RWR) is also analysed. The main aim of ranking and registration is to promote the development of open access by providing timely information about the growth and status of repositories throughout the world. Open access to research maximizes research access and thereby also research impact, making research more productive and effective. The repository is web-enabled using DSpace Digital Library software and can be accessed online.Item Use of QR Code and Augmented Reality Application in Libraries(2016-08-27) Momin, ShaheenInvited as a Speaker for One Day Workshop on “Use of QR Code and Augmented Reality Application in Libraries" on 27th August 2016 at MIT School of Management, Pune.Item Website evaluation of select industries: an evaluation(CESER Publications, 2010) Ansari, Shaheen N.Technology has expanded the range and ease of information access at the expense of personal contact. Barcodes are used within libraries mainly to link items to a catalogue record. Using the traditional barcode the information contained is very limited and only by scanning the barcode (at the library counter) are you able to find further information contained within the catalogue record. If instead we started to use QR codes to label books, journals, audio/visual, offprints etc and a user wanted to see further information about that resource all they’d need to do is scan the QR code. They’d be able to find descriptive information, images, useful URLs etc all at the touch of a button on their phone. This paper examines QR codes and how they can be composed and scan and decode by a camera. QR code is 2-dimensional barcode used for quick response service in academic libraries to a new generation students. This article contains a small sampling of current QR code implementations as well as a summary of what has been done to encourage student engagement with the library through the use of QR codes at the AIKTC (Anjuman-I-Islam’s Kalsekar Technical Campus) Central Library.
