Item Affordable housing using lean construction(AIKTC, 2018-05) Jadhav, Umesh; Khan, Amir Husain (14CES12); Khan, Dawood Ibrahim (14CES16); Parkar, Fouzan (14CES35); Pavaskar, Amin (14CES37)This project intends to compare the use of lean construction tool, Last Planner System, with traditional methods of construction in small scale construction project. Based on the success results obtained by lean production philosophy, which was introduced by Toyota in the manufacturing sector, the construction industry worldwide has adopted this techniques to eliminate waste and increase profit. In India, large construction firm like Godrej Construction and L&T Infrastructure have already adopted this technique efficiently on various sites, but there is still a reluctance from medium sized and small firms to adopt lean construction due to lack of research done on the above techniques. In this project data collection includes AutoCAD drawings of site. The 3D modelling was done using Sketch Up & a detailed estimate was prepared using MS excel. Master schedule was prepared and PPC was calculated. After applying 6 weeks look ahead plan the ppc was again calculated and by comparing a save in cost and time was observed . it is also found that there is need for behavioural changes and training for effective use of lean tool.Item Construction management(AIKTC, 2019) Jadhav, UmeshItem Construction site layout planning using BIM(AIKTC, 2020-05) Jadhav, Umesh; Mirkar, Shaibaz Mansoor (17DCES46); Borkar, Sharia Shaukat (17DCES36); Darwesh, Saqlain Sharafat (17DCES39); Golandaz, Avesh Kutbuddin (17DCES41)Having an efficient construction site layout can significantly impact the productivity, cost and safety of a construction project. Construction site layout planning is therefore recognized as a critical step in construction planning by researchers. In literature this is often described as an optimization process where some objectives (e.g. safety, cost savings) are pursued within the constraints of the site and facilities requirements. Such models are usually complex and difficult for practitioners to apply, and usually result in each project having its unique site layout plan. Each participant in a building construction project requires a dedicated work space in which to execute their activities. In this environment, inappropriate work-space planning in a construction site causes work-space problems, which results in a loss of productivity, safety hazards, and issues of poor quality.Item Effect of Environmental Service by Hedonic Pricing Model(International Journal of Engineering Research, 2016-01) Kanojia, Anita (14CEM04); Jadhav, UmeshEnvironmental services refer to qualitative functions of natural non-produced assets of land, water and air (including related ecosystem) and their biota, which implies natural environment providing particular important uses or benefits that can be captured under the concept of “services.” Our objective is to analyze the benefits associated with such environmental services in order to make them more visible. The hedonic pricing method uses the value of a surrogate good or service to measure the implicit price of a non-market good. The basic idea of the hedonic pricing method is that the price of a market good is related to its characteristics or the services it provides rather than the good itself. This article focuses on assessing residential property rate influenced by environmental services by applying hedonic pricing model. It is most commonly applied to variations in housing prices that reflect the value of local environmental attributes. The paper defines Hedonic Pricing method (HPM) and its methodology. Data required that influences the residential property rates will be collected and are analyzed using regression analysis which relates to statistically estimate a function that relates property values to the property characteristics, including the distance to open space. Thus, the effects of different characteristics on price can be estimated. The results can be used to evaluate the variations of property rates for small change in characteristics holding all other characteristics constant. Price prediction model is than prepared.Item Energy conservation techniques in building construction(AIKTC, 2019) Jadhav, UmeshItem Net zero energy building(AIKTC, 2020-05) Jadhav, Umesh; Rampure, Sachin S. (17DCES51); Bhosale, Amit A. (17DCES35); Zimal, Mayur P. (17DCES74); Chorat, Ashish S. (17DCES37)The main objective of this paper is to study and analysis the existing building and also to give an overview on an existing building to make it a perfect Net Zero Energy Building. It is much difficult to understand the overall concept of a net zero energy building. As all we know that the building has significant impact on the energy use and the environment which is turn affect on the development of the present era. In present the lack of conventional energy sources encourages in developing the NZEBs. According to the survey a major effect of building on the total worldwide energy consumption level i.e. around 40% of the total energy is consumed by only buildings and becoming a major primary energy consumptive part of the worldwide structure. The ZEB definition can be describe significantly the demand and fuel supply strategies and conversion accounting are appropriate to meet a ZEB goal.Item Planning & scheduling of multi storey building using BIM(AIKTC, 2019-05) Jadhav, Umesh; Shaikh, Farheen Rizwan Ahmed (15CES03); Shaikh, Riyaz Ahmad Shakeel Ahmad (15CES52); Shaikh, Mohd. Oracle’s Primavera P6 is an effective tool for determining an ideal schedule for construction activities. This project serves as a perfect reference frame for scheduling different High Rise Buildings. All the important steps like creating an EPS, creating a WBS, linking of activities according to their interdependence and availability of resources, reduction of float values, and determination of Critical Path are clearly exhibited in this report.Item Planning and scheduling of ROB project : A case study Mumbra ROB(AIKTC, 2017-04) Jadhav, Umesh; Khan, Mohd. Saif (13CES23); Sayyad, Maaz (13CES46); Shaikh, Imran (13CES50); Choudhary, Azim (13CES15)This study deals with the scheduling of ROB project which is under construction. Due to increase in number of passengers from Mumbra, the Mumbai Railway Vikas Corporation Ltd is constructing two new railway lines to decrease the passenger traffic. Hence for this road over bridge is being constructed at the proposed site. The ROB construction started in August 2013 and has not been completed yet due to various delays. However it was estimated that the project will be completed in 18 months. The original project was scheduled using traditional methods of construction management. This study is scheduled using the project management software “PRIMAVERA”. Primavera is an appropriate technology for managing construction projects and can improve the construction planning and design efficiency by integrating locations and thematic information in a single environment. In this study the various activities were linked together and their duration was assigned, the software scheduled the activities and thereby estimated the duration of the project accordingly. According to the scheduling done by the software the project duration comes out to be less than the original estimated duration of the project which was 18 months.Item Preparation of Templates for Underground Utility Mapping Using Ground Penetrating Radar System(Walchand College of Engineering, 2013-05-31) Jadhav, UmeshThis paper discusses on preparation of templates for underground utility mapping using ground penetrating radar (GPR) system for Indian soil conditions. Ground-penetrating radar has been used for several years as a non-destructive method of locating subsurface anomalies. For long time, there are so many baffling problems for GPR, such as to distinguish multiple pipes which are close together, to detect the material and diameter size of the pipe, the detection of small diameter non-metallic pipelines.Item Soil stabilization by using municipal solid waste ash(AIKTC, 2018-05) Jadhav, Umesh; Khan, Asif Hasib 14CES14; Belim, NavaidYakub 15DCES61; Khan, Mashrakain Ibnain 15DCES72; Siddiqui, Ashraf Mohammad Rafique 15DCES94This report presents the analysis of soil using municipal waste ash in soil stabilization for different engineering properties. As solid waste disposal being a major environmental problem, because of unavaiblity of lands for disposal. Due to fast growth in construction industry, land is not available as per construction requirements. For dealing with these problems, solid waste can be incinerating to reduce its volume by 80%, and further can be used as soil stabilization material. It enhances the soil properties and also solves the problem of solid waste disposal in city. This work deals with estimation of engineering properties of soil i.e. shear test, maximum dry density vs. optimum moisture content and permeability. Experimental work shows that use of 10% MSW ash by weight of soil can improve the properties at larger extends. The foundation of a building or road is an essential part for effective transmission of load to the subsoil present beneath it. The experimental work is carried out to find the effect of varying proportions of waste materials on shear strength, compaction and permeability of soil. Pursuant to this, following objectives are proposed in the present investigation. 1) To use municipal waste ash as a stabilizing material and to solve the problem of waste disposal. 2) To evaluate the strength characteristics of soil for different proportions of ash in replacement of 5%, 10%, 15% and 20% 3) To study the results of replacement and concentration on future use.Item Valuation of residential properties by hedonic pricing method (HPM)(International Journal of Engineering Development and Research, 2016) Kanojia, Anita (14CEM04); Magar, Rajendra; Jadhav, UmeshHedonic Pricing Method (HPM) is used for estimating the value of a commodity or the demand for a commodity. The method has been widely used in real estate and housing market research in the recent past. In this report, Estimation of residential market price by Hedonic Pricing Method due to environmental service is discussed. Environmental services is a concept from the ecological economics literature. Environmental services refer to qualitative functions of natural non-produced assets of land, water and air (including related ecosystem) and their biota, which implies natural environment providing particular important uses or benefits that can be captured under the concept of “services.” It undertake an examination of use of this methodology in the recent real estate and housing literature in the preparation of housing predictive model. The idea behind the HRM is that the commodities are characterized by their constitute properties, hence the value of a commodity can be calculated by adding up the estimated values of its separate properties. Data required that influences the residential property rates will be collect.ed and are analysed using regression analysis which relates to statistically estimate a function that relates property values to the property characteristics, including the distance to open space. Thus, the effects of different characteristics on price can be estimated. The results can be used to evaluate the variations of property rates for small change in characteristics holding all other characteristics constant. Price prediction model is than prepared.Item Valuation of Residential Properties by Hedonic Pricing Method- A State of Art(Institute for Research and Development, India, 2016) Kanojia, Anita (14CEM04); Jadhav, UmeshThe Hedonic Pricing Method (HPM), also known as hedonic Regression method (HRM) and Hedonic Demand Method (HDM) is used in estimating the value of attributes or the demand of attributes. Hedonic goods are analyzed by "Hedonic price model" and it makes possible to calculate the suitability of price indices in the commodity markets. Hedonic attributes involve immovable properties, such as apartment, computers, cars, home things, mobile phones etc. The features of these goods form their prices. Marginal effects of features of attributes in forming the prices of hedonic goods can be determined by this approach. In other words, the parameters obtained from estimating the hedonic price model describes the marginal value of characteristics of goods. The HPM has been widely used in real estate and housing market research in the recent past. The idea behind the HPM is that the commodities are characterized by their constitute properties, hence the value of a commodity can be calculated by adding up the estimated values of its separate properties. In this paper, emphasis is given on case study related to applicability of hedonic Pricing method, its methodology, comparison with other methods and its limitations.
