Item Applicability of acoustic waves in extinguishing fire(AIKTC, 2021-05) Jamadar, Afaqahmed; Khan, Mohd Murtuza Bilal (16ME48); Ansari, Mohd Rizwan (17ME06); Kamari, Mehlam (17ME22); Kasu, Afan (17ME23)Fire is a series of self-sustaining chemical reactions with varying degrees of light and heat. The visible part of the fire is called flame. Fire occurs when flammable and/or combustible material, combined with an appropriate amount of oxidizing agent, for example, gaseous oxygen is exposed to a heat source or an ambient temperature above the flash stage. Combustible to the fuel/oxidizer mixture and can withstand the rapid oxidation that creates a chain reaction. Fire is made up of four components: fuel, oxygen, heat, and a chain of chemical reactions. This is often called the fire tetrahedron (Figure 1.1). Fire cannot exist without all of these elements in the right place and the right proportions.Item Chip formation analysis of titanuim alloy in high speed machining by using refrigerated air as a coolant(AIKTC, 2016-05) Jamadar, Afaqahmed; Chaudhary, Mohd. Ismail (12ME09); Adhikari, Ovais (12ME04); Vishwakarma, Rakesh (13ME143); Faisal, Rabbani (12ME42)Cutting fluids are used to improve the machining performance during cutting processes. However, the use of cutting fluids in machining process has caused some problems like high cost, pollution, and hazards to operator’s health. All the problems related to the use of cutting fluids have made researchers to search for some alternatives to minimize or even avoid the use of cutting fluids in machining operations. Cooling gas cutting is one of these alternatives. Therefore, in this work refrigerated air is used as a cutting medium for machining of ti alloy. Finally, the effects of cutting speed and cutting feed rate on the chip thickness ratio is investigated.Item Comparators(AIKTC, 2019) Jamadar, AfaqahmedItem Design and fabrication of stair climber trolley(AIKTC, 2022-05) Jamadar, Afaqahmed; Sayed, Abdul Samad Shahabuddin (18ME81); Surve, Mohammad Danish Akbar (18ME113); Shaikh, Hussain Ahmed Riyaz (18ME94); Shaikh, Izhar M Arif ()This project aims at developing a mechanism for easy transportation of heavy loads over stairs. The need for such a system arises from day-to-day requirements in our society. Devices such as hand trolleys are used to relieve the stress of lifting while on flat ground; however, these devices usually fail when it comes to carrying the load over short fleet of stairs. In the light of this, the project attempts to design a stair climbing hand cart which can carry heavy objects up the stairs with less effort compared to carrying them manually. It also endeavors to study the commercial viability and importance of such a product. Several designs were conceived that would allow a non-industrial hand trolley to travel over stairs, curbs, or uneven terrain while reducing the strain on the user. In our project, the trolley is equipped with Tri-Star wheels which enable us to carry load up and down the stairs. It also eases the movement of trolley in irregular surfaces like holes, bumps, etc.Item Design of automated fire and safety system in tanks and vessels(AIKTC, 2018-05) Jamadar, Afaqahmed; Rawoot, Altaf(15DME153); Shaikh, Ateef(15DMe155); Isaf, Danish(14DME149); Mulla, Saahil(14ME100)A literature review has been conducted to gather information related to the extinguishment of actual tank fires and relevant large-scale fire extinguishing tests. The aim was to search for data that could be used for validation of foam spread models. In total, 480 tank fire incidents have been identified worldwide since the 1950s and the information collected has been compiled into a database. A list of the incidents with some data is provided in this report. Out of the 480 fire incidents, only about 30 fires have provided relevant information for model validation. A more detailed summary of the existing data from these fires is also provided in this report. Looking to this history it was very necessary to timely trigger the fire system so that it is never too late and the situations are not out of control. Keeping this in mind Gayatri Tanks & Vessels gave us a project on this particular topic of fire and safety simple automation in tanks and vessels. This report consists a brief about the system using PIC controller as the brain of the system. Different foams are explained so as to give an overview of which type of foam is to be used according to particular situation. The system is supposed to detect a fire inside the tank as well as to the vicinity of the vessel and activate the valve so that the system starts to function.Item Hybrid solar dryer for manufacturing of resins(AIKTC, 2022-05) Jamadar, Afaqahmed; Ansari, Abdurrahman (17ME03); Choudhary, Mohd Varis (17ME13); Shaikh, Ahmed (17ME37); Ansari, Mo Istiyak (17ME54); Niazi, Tausif (17ME60)Solar Drying Technology is used since years in different parts of the world. Depending upon the weather conditions there is variation in use of the solar dryers. For Example in countries/ regions where there are winter season throughout the year and there is no availability of sunlight solar dryers are not applicable. There are mainly two types of solar dryers i.e. Direct and Indirect type Solar dryer. In this project we designed an Indirect type Solar dryer which works in Active mode (forced circulation) for the circulation of heated air which is used for the purpose of drying of food products. The main parts of the solar dryer are collector (Area where heat is collected through solar radiations) and chamber (Area where food products to be dried are stored). The main objective of this project was to design a solar dryer using hybrid technology which can help in continuous drying even when there is no availability of sunlight and for achieving this, we used heating element which we controlled through a light sensor which helps to increase the efficiency of the drying process. The light sensor sense the brightness of the environment and operates heating element during the dark. Fans used for circulation works on a battery which stores charge from the solar panel. The temperature inside the drying chamber can be monitored on the lcd display paired with a temperature sensor which gives reading in Celsius. For the Automation of our project, we used Arduino Uno R3 which contains a microcontroller to store the program by making use of Arduino software.Item Hydraulic valve machine testing(AIKTC, 2019-05) Jamadar, Afaqahmed; Mohite, Aditya Deepak (14ME92); Chougle, Tabish Anwar (14ME70)An engineer is always focused towards challenges of bringing ideas and concepts to life. Several factors influence these objectives, one of which is the cooling lubricant. Many authors have studied machinability with coolant in machining using flood coolant, MQL, and cryogenic cooling, and it has been discovered that the kind of coolant, cutting speed, feed rate, and depth of cut all effect surface finish, cutting forces, chip formation, and tool wear. Because there is very little research on water vapour as a coolant in the literature, it was chosen to investigate the machinability of titanium alloy with the introduction of this environmentally friendly coolant. Keywords – Flood coolant, Cryogenic cooling, and Environmental friendly coolant.Item Productivity ehancement using systematic layout planning and monitoring 5S strategies(AIKTC, 2019-05) Jamadar, Afaqahmed; Sayyed, Ammar (15ME38); Mapkar, Sarfaraz (15ME28); Thakur, Uzair (15ME59); Belal, Ahmed (15ME07)Small scale industries play an important role in the Indian economy. After successfully analyzing, proper time standards were considered in the industry which increased the production rate by 48 pieces extra per month in one machine.Item Surface topographical analysis in high speed machining of titanium alloy (Ti-6A1-4V) using refrigerated air as a coolant(AIKTC, 2017-04) Jamadar, Afaqahmed; Mahimi, Faizaan (13ME91); Farooqui, Asif (13ME74); Shaikh, Mehmood (13ME114)High speed machining has been demonstrated to greatly improve the productivity of titanium alloys in manufacturing. There exists a concern that high speed machining of such alloys (Ti-6AL-4V) may leave surfaces detrimental to fatigue life. Hence titanium alloy magnifies the need for optimizing high performance of titanium machining. Current manufacturing trends require large usage of cutting fluid for lubrication during machining. This leads to increase the cost of production in industries and polluting the environment due to harmful additives present in the cutting fluids. With the aim to reduce cost and non-polluting coolant, refrigerated air as a coolant has been adopted by various machining application. In this work, the high speed turning of titanium alloy (Ti-6Al-4V) is carried using refrigerated air as a coolant .In order to maintain the good surface integrity and to improve the machinability of Ti-6Al-4V, experiment were conducted by varying different combination of speed & feed rate. The effect of machining parameters on surface damages, surface integrity & surface hardness were measured and analyzed.Item Tool life parameters analysis in turning of titanium alloy (Ti6al-4v) using refrigerated air as coolant(AIKTC, 2017-04) Jamadar, Afaqahmed; Khan, Shahid (13ME89); Ansari, Saifali (13ME68); Khan, Parvez (13ME97); Khan, Mohd. Faisal (13ME85)The objective of this paper is to compare the cutting parameters in turning of Titanium Alloy (Ti-6Al-4V) on CNC lathe by finding the longest tool life using Taguchi method and regression equation. The Taguchi method is used to find out the optimal cutting parameters for larger tool life. The selected impactful factors for analysis are depth of cut, feed rate, cutting speed among the all other factors related to machining process. Orthogonal array of Taguchi, signal-to-noise(S/N) ratio and analysis of variance (ANOVA) were employed to find the optimal process parameters and their effect on tool life. Refrigerated air is used as a coolant during machining process. Tool life prediction has great influence on productivity in industrial activities. The main factors that affect tool life can be divided into three categories: the machining tool, machining parameters and the work piece material. The parameters with a higher effect on tool life contain the cutting speed, feed rate, depth of cut and cutting fluid.
