Furthermore to design and fabricate a low cost mechanical indicator prototype with the help of available non-expensive materials using comprehended studies done previously. Such type of indicators is mainly found to be used by steam and diesel engine manufacturers to enable them to work out horsepower ratings for the products. They are also a useful diagnostic tool to show problems with injection, valves, leaking piston rings etc. The engine indicator work on the principle of showing cylinder pressure plotted against piston movement (indicator diagram), and the resulting trace is marked onto a piece of treated paper to give a permanent record. The pressure is taken from the cylinder on test into the indicator. The indicator has a small cylinder with a piston which operates against a spring which sets the operating range. The indicator diagram is very important to know the combustion in the cylinder and also to adjust the engine. The diagram is taken periodically from the indicator valve equipped on the cylinder head and combustion condition is to be confirmed. The compression pressure and maximum pressure in the cylinder can be presumed from the indicator diagram. Engine indicator is the device used to take the indicator diagram, which can be considered as a ‘stethoscope’ for diesel engines. This diagram give efficiency of combustion in the cylinder, condition of the running gear, irregularities in fuel pumping and injection and a lot of things. The present work is aimed at learning the principle working of an actual indicator diagram and thereby designing and fabricating a low cost prototype engine indicator.Item Biogas from kitchen waste(AIKTC, 2018-05) Shah, Ubaid; Shaikh, Salman(14ME101); Khan, Farhan(14ME95); Khan, Shahid(14ME87); Chauhan, Santosh(14ME68)India’s economic growth is contributing to a massive increase in the generation of solid waste. Approximately 55 million tones of Municipal Solid Waste is generated annually by urban areas in India. Over 59% of homes in urban India use Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) supplied in portable cylinders for their cooking needs. However, due to our country’s dwindling petroleum reserves and increased costly imports of petroleum, non conventional energy resources are slowly gaining importance. The use of biogas using kitchen waste as feedstock can help solve the problem of energy deficit and at the same time, allow the safe disposal of kitchen waste which is often unscientifically dumped or discarded. Our institute canteen (AIKTC) utilize several LPG cylinders and also generates large amounts of kitchen waste. The kitchen waste generated has high calorific value and moisture content; hence it can be anaerobically digested. The biogas produced can be used to supplement the fuel requirements of the campus kitchens that generate the kitchen waste. This study consists of carrying out survey, characterization of kitchen waste and exploring it’s potential to be used for biogas production.Item Biogas from kitchen waste(AIKTC, 2019-05) Shah, Ubaid; Shaikh, Usama Javed (15ME52 ); Sheikh, Mohd. The smart walking stick helps the blind people toperform navigation and to do their work easily and comfortably. In normal stick, the detection of the obstacle is not done and normal stick is not efficient for visually impaired person, because the blind person does not know what type of things or what type of the objects come in front of them. The person cannot recognize what is the size of that object and how far it is from the object. It is difficult for the blind person to move here and there. In smart walking stick, ultrasonic sensor is used to detect the obstacle. When the obstacle becomes detected camera becomes on and the object is detected with the help of a camera. If any obstacle comes in front of blind person, they can know about the obstacle by hearing the sound generated by the microphone. A person with blindness can easily detect obstacles on ground, surface textures, pot holes etc. while travelling with a standard white cane. However cane cannot detect overhanging objects like tree branches, sign boards, open glass windows, etc. Also, at times using a white cane could result in scratching a parked vehicle with a cane, bumping into another person, etc. This Cane is designed to vibrate when detecting obstacles and identify objects with artificial intelligence, allowing users the ability to understand what objects are around them, where they are located, and even how they appear.Item Development of mechanism for zero radius turning steering system(AIKTC, 2017-04-02) Shah, Ubaid; Qureshi, Mohd. Hasan; Siddique, Aafaque; Mukadam, AakeebThe aim of this project is to develop an alternative solution for conventional two wheel steering system. In modern era, the major characteristics of the vehicle like steer ability and handling have become major aspects. Conventional steering involve either the Ackerman or Davis steering system which has major disadvantage is it can't take minimum radius turn. Providing zero turn steering without any compromise in steer ability and handling of the vehicle is a major concern for automakers. The main intention is to improve the zero turn steer ability of the vehicle without wheel wandering problems. The number of vehicles is continuously increasing and it’s causing the problem of traffic congestion. To overcome problem like vehicle manoeuvring on narrow roads and during parking this system has been proposed. Zero turn steering gives much better manoeuvrability and control on the car.Item Plastic molding die design of aluminum profile cover {end cap}(AIKTC, 2022-05) Shah, Ubaid; Khan, Abdul Rahim Mohd Subhan (19DME10); Khan, Tabish Rashid (19DME18); Chaudhary, Salman M. Isa (19DME04); Sayed, Zohaib Didar Ahmed (17ME82)Injection molding technology has been in development for almost 150 years. Injection molding is a molding technology that melts the material with the aid of a screw and an external heating device and then injects it into a mold to form the corresponding product as the mold cools. At present, many types of materials can be used to mold products by injection molding. Many requirements and problems in the processing of different materials have also caurs ed the birth of many molding processes. At present, injection molding has been applied in many fields, from daily necessities that are closely related to our lives to parts and components in the aerospace field. At present, injection molding still faces the challenges of processing new materials, and the continuous improvement of the existing equipment technology is required for the continuous development of injection molding. Injection molding is the fabrication process which is the most widely used for polymeric. This paper describes Injection molding process in detail along with its process parameters and their effects on the molding component. Runner system is playing a significant role in the quality of the molded part. Every injection molding method works when a plastic substance flows from the sprue of the runner system, through a gate into the mould cavity. Runner system is of two types, Hot runner and cold runner system, both having some advantages and disadvantages of each. It has been observed that although hot runner gives better quality of the product, many of the industries use cold runner due to the high cost and complexity of the design.Item Project report on “workplace safety using AI & ML(AIKTC, 2022-05) Shah, Ubaid; Shekasan, Owais A. (19DME20); Attar, Amaan D. (19DME02); Gharade, A. Rahim A. R. (19DME06); Khan, Israr A. (19DME12)Artificial intelligence and machine learning models are mathematical algorithms trained using specific data and human expert input to replicate a decision, which would be made by a human when provided with that same information. Furthermore, computer vision will be the predominant part of our project. Computer vision is a field of artificial intelligence (A.I.) that allows computers and systems to obtain meaningful information from images, videos, and other visual inputs and make changes or provide suggestions based on that information. If artificial intelligence allows computers to think, then computer vision allows them to see, observe and comprehend. It works similarly to human vision. The system is designed and developed to reduce accident rates in the workplace. This technique will increase system efficiency in reducing accident rates, increasing the safety of operators and machines. This proposed system uses OpenCV libraries, deep-learning algorithms, and python programming language. It has various detection modes like apron detection, which ensures operators dressed code, machine components detection that ensures operation safety, and operator safety. Whenever an unsafe action occurs, or the operator does not follow safety rules, it is detected by the algorithm, sensed by the camera, which will trigger an alarm, ultimately lowering the risk of accidents.Item Retrofitting of auto-rikshaw(AIKTC, 2020-05) Shah, Ubaid; Shaikh, Mohammed Faiz Bakshi (17DME145); Shaikh, Abdul Kadeer Aijaz Ahmed (17DME141); Yadav, Rishikesh Vijay Vimal (17DME151); Shaikh, Mohammed Khalid Mansoor (17DME147)When it comes to vehicles, one thing is sure that the future is electric. Three wheeled auto rickshaws are most popular mode of transport in India and most of the Asian countries. They play a crucial role in the Indian automotive industry. They are compact and narrow, allowing mobility on congested roads. In past we have seen the dominance of ic engine based cng auto rickshaw in automobile sector. Even though having discernible superiority in vehicle structure, auto rickshaws possesses an awful pollution problem due to use of conventional fuel supply to run the engine. And the increasing demand, increase in fuel prices, dependency on conventional source of energy, low efficiency, regular maintenances, has given a rise to battery-motor conveyance i.e. E-rickshaw. We are focusing on making the cheapest mode of public transportation for few kilometers conventional fuel free. So the objective behind the project is to utilize the scrap/elapsed cng based auto-rickshaw, which major source of the air pollution and convert it to battery and motor driven e-rickshaw. The electric vehicle has already gained so much popularity in market, and the upcoming regulations (electric mobility vision 2030) as governments of India has a vision of complete electric mobility by the year 2030. Considering the current and future scenario we have come up with a complete modification of cng operated auto rickshaw by replacing the engine and fuel cylinder with BLDC motor for vehicle propulsion, powered by the lithium-ion batteries. These kind of vehicles will prove to be environment friendly and have the potential to reduce the pollution significantly due to passenger transport activities. The running cost of battery powered auto rickshaw is less than the fuel based 3 wheelers and will improve the socioeconomic condition.
