Item Design of electrical SCADA system for 11KV substation(IOSR Journal of Engineering, 2019) Mulla, Rumana (16DEE65); Naikwadi, Nasrin (16DEE66); Pawar, Pranavi (16DEE68); Shaikh, Maseera (16DEE78); Khan, Yakub; Hule, ShraddhaIn Substation it is difficult to monitor and control the different parameters such as voltage, current, power factor etc. which affect the reliability of the power. As the demand for reliable electric power is become important therefore the technology "Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition system "or SCADA is developed. SCADA system provide better monitoring, control and maintain the reliability of power, it can also extend the life of substations and related equipment by providing current data for troubleshooting small problems before they escalate. This paper evaluates the SCADA system has also provide the difference between the "Numerical Relay" and "Electromechanical Relay"Item High altitude wind power generation(IOSR Journal of Engineering, 2019) Patel, Iftekar; Khan, Sarfaraz (16DEE60); Mansuri, Madni (16DEE64); Khan, Qais (16DEE61); Haji, Altamas (16DEE57)The concept of High Altitude Wind Power ( HAWP ) is to supply clean energy at low cost and high capacity factor than the Conventional Wind Power ( CWP ) system. This is one of the new technologies deployed for harvesting high altitude wind power using airborne wind turbine -cum electric generator supported by light gas filled blimp/aerostat has been proposed in the project. An airborne wind turbine at high altitude extracts kinetic energy from the high speed streamlined wind using buoyancy provided by the blimp. Using a suitable power electronic converter (PEC), harvested electrical power is transmitted to the ground by using a tether. A Blimp is tethered tothe ground and provides mechanical strength to hold the blimp and the same tether consisting of an electrical conductor is used for transmitting the generated power. In addition, a comparative study between conventional wind energy harvesting system and high altitude wind energy harvesting system shows that high altitude wind power is better in terms of capacity factor, Cost of Electricity (COE), ease of construction and power density than conventional wind power generating system.Item Inspection robot for high voltage power transmission line(International Journal of Research In Science & Engineering, 2017-03) Sarguru, Mohd. Awais (13EE45); Shaikh, Naaz (14DEE66); Temrikar, Abdul (13EE60); Ukaye, Shakir (13EE61)The procedure used for inspection and verification of damages in cables is highly dependent on the experience of a skilled technician who, using binoculars, covers the transmission lines in a helicopter, and is able of visualing points where seems to exist damaged spots in the wires and in insulators of the transmission lines . After this previous identification, teams are sent to verify, with greater detail , if the imperfection is relevant .To confirm the relevance of imperfections, the lines are de-energized and the repair or substitution can be carried out. With the objective of complementing the service of inspection in transmission lines and making it less dependent of the technician skill, the development of a system of services in lines of energy transmission that includes the automation as an auxiliary tool in the identification of imperfections and as a mechanism of diminishing the lines disconnection time. In this work, a mobile robot is presented as a tool to automate the operations of inspection. This robot, currently teleported, while travelling upon the wires, gathers cable images, through cameras, and sends them to an operations base.Item Maintenance of 220kv substation equipment(IOSR Journal of Engineering, 2019) Khan, Azharuddin (15EE16); Shaikh, Gulam Jilani (15EE39); Chaudhary, Mushtaque (14EE30); Sayed, Javed(14EE34); Khan, Yakub; Syed, KaleemThis paper will explore the maintenance of electrical equipment. Specifically it will look at: 1) why maintenance is performed on electrical equipment? 2) What, legal or other, drivers are behind performing electrical equipment maintenance? 3) Electrical equipment maintenance is performed on an interval, but what is the purpose of this interval and how is it determined? 4) What is the difference between breakdown, preventive, and predictive electrical equipment maintenance methods and when shouldeach be applied? 5) What do available testing technologies, such as - insulation resistance, power factor, oil analysis, partial discharge, infrared, ultrasonic, functional analysis, etc., tell us about the condition of electrical equipment and when should they be applied to various types of electrical equipment? 6) What does analysis of electrical equipment maintenance data/information reveal about the frequencies, philosophies, and foundation on which maintenance is performed? Keyword: National Electrical Code(NEC), Electrical Preventive Maintenance (EPM),Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)Item Study of speed control of ACIM using indirect field oriented control(Engineering Research Publication, 2019-03) Siddiqui, Shabbir Ahmed (16DEE84); Mahfuz, Alam (16DEE62); Khan, Hussain I. Pathan (16DEE67); Shaikh, Mohammed Tahir (14EE40); Hule, ShraddhaThis study has been undertaken to investigate the speed control ACIM using field oriented control. The principle of vector control of electric drives is based on the control of both the magnitude and the phase of each phase current and voltage. for thispurpose, the study of available conventional and non-conventional approaches has been presented. This paper also presents a clear study which illustrates introduction of efficient vector control of ACIM.
