Being part of the multilingual Indian society, most Indian speakers achieve the native verbal and linguistic repertoire of different Indian languages. At the same time, they struggle to speak English as a second or foreign language with international intelligibility. This study presents the First Language Influence and Suprasegmental Reflections of Indian speakers on English language. It also deals with the reasons and remedies to extirpate this habit. It may also help the readers to better understand the issues faced by their students or learners of English to adopt an empirical approach for teaching correct pronunciation. This study is based on personal interaction during teaching English as a second or foreign language to the Indian vernacular medium pupils.en_US
