Digitalrepositories,containingdetailedinformationondrugsandotherusefulcompounds,are goldminesfortheStudyofchemicalreactionscapabilities.Designlibraries,withthepotentialto generatemolecularvariantsintheirentirety,allowtheselectionandsamplingofchemical compoundswithdiversecharacteristics. Structure-baseddrugdesignandligand-baseddrugdesign aretwomethodscommonlyusedincomputer-aideddrugdesign.Inthisarticle,wediscussthe theorybehindbothmethods,aswellas theirsuccessfulapplicationsandlimitations.
