Item Algae to biofuel(AIKTC, 2018-05) Tadavi, Shakil; Chougule, Huzaifa(15DME144); Hodekar, Afif(15DME146); Khan, Shoeb(15DME148); Shaikh, Abdul Mueed(15DME154)Biodiesel is biodegradable, less NOx CO and C02 emissions. Continued use of petroleum sourced fuels is now widely recognized as unsustainable because of depleting supplies and the contribution of these fuels to the accumulation of carbon dioxide in the environment. Renewable, carbon neutral, transport fuels are necessary for environmental and economic sustainability. Sustainable production of renewable energy is being hotly debated globally since it is increasingly understood that first generation biofuels, primarily produced from food crops and mostly oil seeds are limited in their ability to achieve targets for biofuel production, climate change mitigation and economic growth. These concerns have increased the interest in developing second generation biofuels produced from nonfood feed stocks such as microalgae, which potentially offer greatest opportunities in the longer term. Microalgae have emerged as one of the most promising sources for biodiesel production. It can be inferred that microalgae grown in C02-enriched air can be converted to oily substances. Such an approach can contribute to solve major problems of air pollution resulting from C02 evolution and future crisis due to a shortage of energy sources. Thinking about these elements, exhibit work focused on generation of Biodiesel from the Microalgae by Expeller Method. This project is concerned with the analysis and development of a algae oil extracting machine Further the aim of the project is to increase the understanding of the operation of the machine, and identify and implement methods of improving the performance.Item Automated lubrication system(AIKTC, 2018-05) Tadavi, Shakil; Khan, Ishaque(15DME129); Shaikh, Ajaz A.(15DME138); Cheulkar, Shairoz(15DME143); Sawant, Furqan(13ME40)Item Car crash analysis and optimization(AIKTC, 2017-04) Tadavi, Shakil; Ansari, Azim; Khan, Mohd. Asif; Ansari, Amir; Patel, AkramAn automotive bumper is an important member for safety point of view. Bumper with Fascia in front most part, are design such that, after an impact car can sustain without damage to vehicle safety systems. The intention of the project is to study the most important variable like material of the fascia and bumper, structure of the bumper and shape of the bumper beam in order to improve the crashworthiness during the collision and also study the behavior of the bumper system at different frequency by using CAD and CAE Software. More accents are given on selection of bumper material.Item Design and analysis of bionic leg(AIKTC, 2016-05) Tadavi, Shakil; Moulvi, Shabi (12ME36); Fahad, Mohammad (11ME20); Shemle, Uzair (13ME139); Shaikh, Mohd. Ashhad (12ME54)The actuated leg prosthesis comprises a knee member, a socket connector provided over the knee member, an elongated trans-tibial member having a bottom end under which is connected an artificial foot, and a linear actuator. At first pivot assembly allows to operatively connect the trans-tibial member to the knee member. A second pivot assembly allows to operative connect an upper end of the actuator to the knee member. A third pivot assembly allows to operatively connect a bottom end of the actuator to the bottom end of the trans tibial member. The prosthesis can be provided as either a front actuator configuration or a rear actuator configuration.Item Design and fabrication of food composter(AIKTC, 2019-05) Tadavi, Shakil; Bhatkar, Danish Abdul Rauf [16DME132]; Dalvi, Sajjad Mushtaque [16DME136]; Dinware, Ziyad Salim [16DME137]; Khan, Danish Salim [16DME147]Organic waste and especially Food waste is a worldwide problem, it cost to be disposed and nothing is gained from it, on the contrary, it causes the emission of harmful gases such as methane. In India 40 percent of the garbage is a food waste. One of the major problems that faces Saudi Arabia nowadays that there are no serious moves towards solving the food waste issue. In 2030 vision, one of their targets is to focus on the pollution and the causes of it. Composting has proven to be a valid solution to this problem but not entirely explored. The objectives of this project are to design a composting machine with certain parameters for the design, Process time, Easy to use, odorless and power saving. The designed food waste decomposition system is designed for rapid composting performance. It can be used by households, restaurants, hotels, schools, apartment buildings, communities, offices and cafeterias depending on the capacity of the machine. The system employs high temperature, microorganisms to decompose food waste and organic matter. The machine was built with an DC geared motor with rated power input of 60W in addition to temperature sensor and humidity sensor and printed circuit board to control the process. The International Institute of Refrigeration (IIR) has estimated that approximately 15% of all electricity produced worldwide is used for refrigeration and air-conditioning processes of various kinds (Lucas, 1988). According to the statistics survey by JARN1 and JRAIA2, the demand for air conditioners worldwide has the fundamental tendency of steady increase (IIR, 2006). The global growth rate is about 17%. The cooling load is generally high when solar radiation is high. Together with existing technologies, solar energy can be converted to both electricity and heat; either of which can be used to power refrigeration systems.Item Failure investigation and redesign of crankshaft and cylinder(AIKTC, 2020-05) Tadavi, Shakil; Ansari, Jabir Zaheer (17DME100); Khan, Imran Shakeel Ahmed (17DME116); Khan, Mansoor Anis (17DME118); Khan, Mohammed Tanvir Kareem (17DME119)The crankshaft is an essential component in reciprocating pump, which is widely used in an automobile and reciprocating pumps. The most common modes of crankshaft failure are fatigue failure. During its operation, the crankshaft is always subjected to a cyclical load. Besides, the bending and shear load are also typical loads on the crankshaft. Due to the effect of these loads, the crankshaft fails and causes a substantial economic and loss of life. Therefore, predicting the more accurate design of the crankshaft is essential to save the economic and life losses. This report discusses several existing approaches to redesign of crankshaft. Various analytical and experimental approaches used to find the failure due to bending stress.. The review shows that crankshaft failures are the result of bending stress. The crack initiation can occur due to high-stress concentration or improper design of crankshaft . After successfully analyzing of bending stress we calculate the safe values for crankshaft design due to which failure of crankshaft gets reduced.Item Refrigeration and air conditioning(AIKTC, 2018) Tadavi, ShakilItem Thermal insulation of steel pipe(AIKTC, 2020-05) Tadavi, Shakil; Khan, Abdul Karim (17DME115); Khan, Faizan Sagir (17DME108); Chilwan, Arbaz Ashraf (17DME105); Kazi, Aadil Noor Mohd. (17DME114)This article is about the effects of insulation thickness of steel pipes with different diameters and sensitivity to economic parameters. The Ansys Software were used with simple method and procedures are used for the optimization and sensitivity analyses. The insulation materials are Fiber Glass, Thermocol and Polystyrene the results show that consideration of all the physical and economic conditions appear with the optimum insulation thickness that varies from 5 cm to 16 cm unit cost of insulation are sensitive to the insulation thickness. Additionally, the increased discount rate and cost per unit volume of insulation material lowers the optimum insulation thickness. In conclusion, it is expected that this study will provide a guide for engineers, where insulation is used for large diameter pipes.
