This paper presents results of strength analysis done on crankshaft of a single cylinder two stroke petrol engine, using PRO/E and ANSYS software. The three dimensional model of crankshaft was developed in PRO/E and imported to ANSYS for strength analysis. This work includes, in analysis, torsion stress which is generally ignored. A calculation method is used to validate the model. The paper also proposes a design modification in the crankshaft to reduce its mass. The analysis of modified design is also done. For this, people are moving towards the renewable energy sources. Because of its reversibility, the process ishighly demanding. Wind is one of the most important renewable energy which drags and sparks the houses because of non-conventional energy sources. Since wind produces power in a cubic relation with the wind speed, people conscience towards the wind sources has increased and also it is free of cost and doesn’t emit any greenhouse gases. In this study, we elucidate the wind energy for power generation at domestic level of use at optimum rate so that people will be benefited through its use.Item Design of mini CNC using arduino uno(Fast Track Publications, 2019-04) Mukadam, Wasif (16DME162); Qureshi, Md. Often it is required that the same documents which originated from a common source are to be used by multiple users at different places for different purposes. This puts forward multiple challenges ranging from timely retrieval to data security. To overcome all such issues, a safe, secured, updated and efficient retrieval system is installed, configured and maintained at the institute level using open source cloud software called Own cloud. The user groups have been created program-wise. Then the user accounts are created for every faculty and added to specific program group. A directory structure has been created considering the common ministrative and teaching-learning requirements of the programs. This structure has been shared with all the faculty members of the respective program. A write access or read access is provided to all the concerned users through which each user has required access on fly. Every faculty user has 1 GB quota and department clerk has 10 GB quota, which can be used to store individual's teaching-learning and administrative records. Such implementation has provided an immediate and efficient access to all the teaching-learning and administrative records at any point of time and any location.Item Experimental Investigation on Forced Convection Heat Transfer Augmentation Using Annular Blockages(P and R Engineering Consultancy Publication, 2015-05) Herle, AAbstract— Heat exchangers have several industrial and engineering applications. The design procedure of heat exchangers is quite complicated, as it needs exact analysis of heat transfer rate and pressure drop estimations apart from issues such as long-term performance and the economic aspect of the equipment. Whenever inserts are used for the heat transfer enhancement, along with the increase in the heat transfer rate, the pressure drop also increases. This increase in pressure drop increases the pumping cost. Therefore any augmentation device should optimize between the benefits due to the increased heat transfer coefficient and the higher cost involved because of the increased frictional losses. Experimental work on heat transfer augmentation using annular blockages. Inserts when placed in the path of the flow of the fluid, create a high degree of turbulence resulting in an increase in the heat transfer rate and the pressure drop. The work includes the determination of friction factor and heat transfer coefficient for various annular blockages and annular blockages having different diameter. The results of annular blockages having different diameter have been compared with the values for the plain tube. Four annular blockages (di=20%, 30%, 40% & 50% reduction in outer diameter) are used in the study.Item Exploring correlations in components of green supply chain practices and green supply chain performance(Emerald Group Publishing Limited, 2016) Gandhi, AsifPurpose The purpose of this paper is to explore the peer-reviewed literature, as well as literature written by practitioners having authority on green supply chains and allied areas with a view to identify future research directions with the help of an extensive literature review. Originality/value Such a study with the connotation and components of green supply chain (GSC) practices and GSC performance as identified and used in this paper might not have been conducted before in the way it is proposed to be used in this paper, thus making this an appropriate contribution. Accordingly, a framework for the research has been depicted, and research questions have been framed.Item Faculty Performance Improvement: Survey of Factors and Remedies at AIKTC(Paper Presented @ International conference on "Recent Advances and Challenges in Engineering and Management", 2014-04) Ansari, ZakirImprovements in quality teaching-learning help in effective concept learning by the students. This has become a mandatory requirement for the institutes providing professional courses like Engineering, Architecture and Pharmacy. This is because in such courses the focus is on learning concept so as to apply it in professional career of the students. In most of the cases different subjects of the professional courses are taught by different faculties. Their way of lecture delivery differs from person to person. The performance of the students is affected by some external factors as well as by the performance of their teachers. A survey of the factors affecting the students’ performance was done through the teaching faculties and two of the most significant factors were considered for improvement. The current paper aims at getting the responses of teachers having highest students’ feedback score through a questionnaire. The responses are for the factors affecting the performance of faculty. In this paper, method of manual process planning has been described briefly and the focus is kept on the Batch Production. In small scale and medium scale industries, this technique of process planning is not implemented. A case study of aerospace parts manufacturing company has been discussed. This paper recommends the necessary action related with process planning which should be taken by the company. The sequence of operations performed there depends on the skills of the worker, availability of machines and time available which has nothing to do with the proper utilization of facility available. With the prior knowledge of Process Planning in production and various of its relative factors like machining, management of idle time of machines and cost estimation can be done effectively.
