The convenience of administration and patient compliance are gaining significant importance in the design of dosage forms. Oral rehydration salts are orally administered antidiarrheal and rehydrating agents. Improper preparation of ORS salts and reluctance of pediatric patients to consume ORS solution in addition to lack of safe water, shortage of water leads to undesired results, thus to alleviate such problems liquid formulation of high viscosity were prepared. Formulation of oral jelly was prepared by using ORS base (ORS salts) and jelly base (thickening agent, colorant, flavors, sweetening agent). The prepared batches were evaluated for appearance, viscosity, pH, syneresis, and in-vitro drug release. The optimized batch showed substantial stability when subjected to a short-term stability study (at room temperature).en_US
