Item Robotics surveillance project(AIKTC, 2015-05) khadase, Rahul; Matiur, Rehman (12ET80); Sayed, Saleem (12ET84); Qureshi, Mehtab Alam (11ET59)ABSTRACT: Object tracking is a challenging task in spite of all sophisticated methods that have been de-veloped. The major challenge is to keep track of the object of a particular choice. In this work, a new video moving object-tracking method is proposed. The segmentation of the video is done by contextual clustering. Clustering is an important method in data analysis because of its ability to ‘discover’ the inherent features in the data. The fundamental concept in clustering techniques is to group a given set of objects into subsets according to properties associated with each object, so that the members in each individual subset share some similar properly defined features. A multitarget human tracking is attempted.Item Gesture based wireless single-armed robot in cartesian 3D space using kinect(AIKTC, 2015-05) Alvi, Rizwan; Memon, Md. Farhan Md. Fareed (11ET33); Quraishi, Imran Akram (11ET41); Shaikh, Bilal Anees (12ET86)Human Machine Interaction (HMI) has always played an important role in everybody’s life motivating research in the area of intelligent service robots. Conventional methods such as remote controllers or wearables cannot cater the high demands in some scenarios. To overcome this situation, the challenge is to develop vision-based gesture recognition techniques. This project describes our work of controlling an Arduino based wheeled, one armed robot, used as a prototype, controlled through various gestures of the arms and legs. For gesture recognition, we make use of skeletal tracing ability of Kinect – a product of Microsoft. Bluetooth is used to make the controls wireless. Since it is not line of sight operation, the robot also captures the environment video and transmits it over radio frequency in real-time and displayed on the screen. On the user end, according to the received video, the operator guides the robot and uses the arm to pick and place objects with the help of predetermined gestures.Item Comparative study of IP & MPLS technology(AIKTC, 2015-05) Tamboli, Mujib; Haji, Mohd. Sharukh Haroon; Shaikh, Sameer; Gite, Mohd. Mukhtar; Shaikh, Mohd. JavedMPLS is in discussion since last decade. It has been introduced to improve the performance and speed of the backbone network. There has been demand for transition from conventional network to the MPLS network in the service providers network. A comparative study and performance behaviour of the service providers network with MPLS network under different traffic conditions with various services is being proposed. An experimentation will be carried out on MPLS network with different traffic conditions to support the performance analysis on service provider routers. There has been significant improvement in the demand for the bandwidth requirement in the near future. This requires the access network and the backbone network to be significantly improved with respect to various services. Specifically a high speed network with a improvement in performance in expected at the backbone network. One of the contenders for the above problem is MPLS protocols. A network with MPLS protocols will take care of all the future demands for large bandwidth access for the subscribers. The analysis of the MPLS protocols has been carried out which has been reported in literature. A performance analysis of MPLS network under different traffic conditions and under different services is required before it is deployed in the field. Wireshark ,VLC, Jperf are some open source tools used for traffic generation and network analysis . This work proposes analysis of network performance parameter such as Latency, Throughput, Packet Loss, Jitter with traditional routing and MPLS. Testing scenario is created in with Service Provider MPLS enabled router and MPLS protocol features are analysed .Item Analysis of performance of VOIP over various scenarios(AIKTC, 2015-05) Tamboli, Mujib; Ligade, Priyanka (11ET03); Thevar, Shruthi (11ET06); Abdul Qaiyum, Mohammed Ishaq (11ET35); Chougule, Mubeen (12ET67)Voice over IP (VOIP) uses the Internet Protocol (IP) to transmit voice as packets over an IP network. So VOIP can be achieved on any data network that uses IP, like Internet, Intranets and Local Area Networks (LAN). Here the voice signal is digitized, compressed and converted to IP packets and then transmitted over the IP network. Signaling protocols are used to set up and tear down calls, carry information required to locate users and negotiate capabilities. VoIP is an advanced technology that has a great potential to develop new telecommunication with much lower cost and better QoS. In our project, we shall analyze the performance of VoIP over digital communication on popular application such as Skype and msn. Parameters of interest are the quality of service, the Mean Opinion Score, packet loss ratio and jitter. We also plan to examine the delays and distortion issues that VoIP might have while increasing the traffic load and generate a more realistic topology by adding extra models to the system and evaluate the impact to the overall QoS.Item Self balancing robot(AIKTC, 2015-05) Kotiyal, Bandanawaz; Gothe, Shahid; Fouje, Salman; Antuley, Abdul; Shaikh, Mohd. JunaidTo make a robot which can balance itself on two wheels. There will be only one axle connecting the two wheels and a platform will be mounted on that .There will be a another platform above it . The platform will not remain stable itself. Our job will be to balance the platform using distance sensors and to maintain it horizontal. At first we have decided to just balance the robot on its two wheels .If the platform inclines then microcontroller(in this case it is Arduino) will send signals to motors such that motors would move forward or backward depending on the inclination direction and extent. So if the platform tilts forward then motors will run forward and viceversa to keep the platform horizontal. For this we will need to code the Arduino in order to perform job according to this.Item Automated blood cells segmentation and counting(AIKTC, 2015-05) Chaya, Ravindra; Siddique, Sufiyan; Haidery, Waqar; Shaikh, Waqas; Sayyed, Mohammed RizwanBlood cell segmentation and identification are centered on the pre-processing of the image, segmentation of the Regions of Interest (ROI) and identification or classification of the cells. Recent studies have suggested different method for segmentation and identification of blood cells. Counting of blood cells (rbc or wbc) in blood cell images is very important to detect as well as to follow the process of treatment of many diseases like anaemia, leukaemia, lung nodule etc. However, locating, identifying and counting of blood cells manually are tedious and time consuming that could be simplified by means of automatic analysis, in which segmentation is a crucial step. We present an approach to automatic segmentation and counting of blood cells in microscopic blood cell images using Hough Transform. Morphological is a very powerful tool in image processing, and it is been used to segment and extract the blood cells (rbc or wbc) from the background and other cells. The algorithm used features such as shape of desired blood cells for counting process. The result presented here is based on images with normal blood cells. The process is initiated by image acquisition and image enhancement process. Noise removal from the blood smear image is the first step. This removes the unwanted pixels from the image. Further the edges are preserved and binarization of the image is performed, separating the region of interest from the background. Further the edges are preserved and binarization of the image is performed. Then the task is to differentiate red blood cells from the various other components in the blood by the segmentation process. Morphological operations are applied on the blood image followed by RBC counting using Hough transform which is an efficient image segmentation technique. The primary goal of the proposed system is to detect and count all the RBC including the overlapping ones in the blood smear image.Item Dual frequency rectangular microstrip antena(AIKTC, 2015-05) Shaikh, Afzal; Vanu, Faizan; Shaikh, Mohammad; Khan, AftabThe research in wireless communication has spurred the development of extra ordinary range of antennas, each with its own advantage and limitations. In today’s modern communication industry, antennas are the most important components required to create a communication link. Microstrip antennas are an urgent need for aerospace and mobile applications because of their low profile, light weight, flexibility to efficiently combine the capabilities of multiple antennas and low power handling capacity. Conventional Microstrip patch antennas has some drawbacks of low efficiency, narrow bandwidth of the central frequency, its bandwidth is limited to a few percent which is not enough for most of the wireless communication systems nowadays. The project provides a detailed study of the design of coaxial-fed Rectangular Microstrip Patch Antenna to facilitate dual polarized, dual band operation. The design parameters of the antenna have been calculated using the transmission line model and the cavity model. For the simulation process HFSS (High Frequency Structural Simulator) which is electromagnetic software based on finite element method (FEM) has been used. The effect of antenna dimensions and substrate parameters on the performance of antenna have been discussed. The antenna has been designed with embedded spur lines and integrated reactive loading for dual band operation with better impedance matching. The designed antenna can be operated at two frequency band with centre frequencies 2.44 GHz (Bluetooth) and 5.5 GHz (Wi-Fi). So the dual band and dual frequency operation has successfully incorporated into a single patch.Item Web Server Based Home Automation(AIKTC, 2015-05) Kotiyal, Bandanawaz; Kheratkar, Mohammed Fahad (12ET99); Rumane, Ammar (12ET66); Rumane, Faisal (12ET98); Siddiqui, Mohd Ajmal (12ET95)Now A Days home and building automation systems are used more and more. On the other hand, they provide increased comfort especially when employed in a private home .On the other hand, automation systems installed in commercial buildings do not only increase comfort ,but also allow centralized control of Security, Alarm Systems, Door lock, CCTV, Heating, Sensing, Air conditioning and lightning. In order to make roads safer, cleaner and smarter, sensor and communication technologies are increasingly considered in research, standardization and development. While today‘s vehicles are already able to sense the surrounding environment, we expect that future cars will communicate with a roadside communication infrastructure and with each other. Connected vehicles create a fundamental building block of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) and can provide numerous application services to improve safety and comfort of driving. These accidents can be avoided if only if there was a mechanism to alert the drivers of approaching danger. This can be done by monitoring the distance between nearby cars and alerting the driver whenever the distance becomes too short. Vehicle-to-vehicle communication can prevent crashes. Smarter cars that talk to one another are the next step in auto safety. Wireless, vehicle-to-vehicle communication systems warn you of potential hazards. This is prime aim of our topic. In this topic, we propose the use of Bluetooth & Ultra Sonic Motion Sensor Technology by which we can check the speed of the car whenever it comes dangerously close to any other vehicle up front, thereby saving many lives.Item Landslide werning system detection using raspberry PI, arduino and zigbee(AIKTC, 2016-05) Shaikh, Afzal; Khan, Mohd. Haris (12ET29); Kazi, Mohd. Saad (12ET37)In this project we are going to study about Landslide warning system, as the occurrence of landslides is a big loss for human life and property. We can’t stop the natural causes but we can be alert before they occur. So for alerting people from landslides we use this technique. In this design we have used three sensors of Angle sensor which gives the readings of slope angle if there is any movement in landslide and we have Liquid level sensor it collects the depth of water at the mountains. Temperature sensor gives the changes in the temperature. These all nodes of sensors are connected to the Raspberry pi for collection of data. As the data is collected then all the readings are given to Zigbee for transmission. As we obtain the information at the receiver side by LCD display at receiver station or by SMS we can alert the people and save lives and property. Thus this project is very important as we use it in our real time purpose for saving lives and property. This design combines of wireless communication technology and Wireless Sensor Network.Item Auto irrigation using arduino(AIKTC, 2016-05) Kotiyal, Bandanawaz; Shaikh, Sheroz (12ET55)India is the agriculture based country. Our ancient people completely depended on the agricultural harvesting. Agriculture is a source of livelihood of majority Indians and has great impact on the economy of the country. In dry areas or in case of inadequate rainfall, irrigation becomes difficult. So, it needs to be automated for proper yield and handled remotely for farmer safety. Increasing energy costs and decreasing water supplies point out the need for better water management. Irrigation management is a complex decision making process to determine when and how much water to apply to a growing crop to meet specific management objectives. If the farmer is far From the agricultural land he will not be noticed of current conditions. So, efficient water management plays an important role in the irrigated agricultural cropping systems. A low cost alternative solution for efficient water management currently in use is drip irrigation systems that consist of an automated controller to turn on & off the control values, which in turn helps the farmers by managing the water supply to the crop fields and further maintains the moisture levels of soil that helps in better crop production. This project probes into the design of the automated irrigation system based on Arduino. This Embedded project is to design and develop a low cost feature which is based on embedded platform for water irrigation system. This project uses temperature and soil moisture sensors to detect the water quantity present in agriculture. The project uses Arduino micro controller which is controller to process the information. The aim of the implementation was to demonstrate that the automatic irrigation can be used to reduce water use.Item Operation and maintanance alcatel 3G technology(AIKTC, 2016-05) Chaya, Ravindra; Idrisi, Tabrez (11ET18); Noormohd, Iqbal (11ET60); Khanvilkar, Yogesh (12ET34); Khan, Javed (12ET28)Operation and Maintenance System(OMS) has being an integral part of the Radio Access Network (RAN) pertaining to 3G telecommunication standard plays a vital role in managing the network. Then according to the causes and characteristics of fibre-optic cable fault, we use the Optical Time- Domain Reflectometer (OTDR) to test the line, determine the position and feature of the error point. Finally we get the solution to fix the problem.Item Indoor position tracking and detection system(AIKTC, 2016-05) Khan, Zarrar; Syed, Mohd. Mufazzal Hussein (13ET63); Shaikh, Zainul (13ET71); Farid, Jibran (13ET70); Waja, AAraf (13ET68)This project serves the need to automatically identify and track the location of objects and people in usually within a building or other contained area. The development and implementation of the Accelerometer Sensors are playing the key role in this indoor tracking system, and the results obtained will be displayed on the monitor using a suitable Graphical User Interface. This project is an alternative to GPS and is able to measure the position of the person inside a building. With this scheme, the accuracy of positioning can be dramatically improved, especially in offices and closed areas. Preliminary results show that this idea is feasible. System designs must take into account that at least three independent measurements are needed to unambiguously find a location. For smoothing to compensate for stochastic (unpredictable) errors there must be a sound method for reducing the error budget significantly.Item Railway track crack detection(AIKTC, 2016-05) Pathan, Siraj; Shukla, Ramkrishna (12ET59); Tikekar, Sohail (12ET62)In the current railway systems, it is becoming even more necessary to have safety elements in order to avoid accidents. One of the important causes that can provoke serious accidents is the existence of obstacles on the tracks, either fixed or mobile. This project deals about one of the efficient methods to avoid train accidents due to cracks on the track and obstacle detection. The main objective of this project is to develop detecting the crack in the railway track and alert the near by station.
