(AIKTC, 2026-06) Ansari, Mukhtar; Wangde, Amin [21CO62]; Shaikh, Ashraf [22CO44]; Mohammed Ali Sahabuddin [22CO50]; Khan, Mohd. Afzal [20CO30]
The Sci-Tech Web Crawler project is designed to build a domain-specific search engine focused exclusively on science and technology content. Unlike general-purpose crawlers that index a wide range of web pages based on popularity or backlinks, this system prioritizes relevance, credibility, and academic quality. It gathers and analyzes information from authoritative platforms such as IEEE, arXiv, and other verified research repositories to ensure that users—students, researchers, and professionals—gain access to accurate and topic-specific data. The primary objective of this work is to create a precise, intelligent, and automated tool that minimizes irrelevant or promotional noise typically present in mainstream search engines. To achieve this goal, the crawler leverages Python-based technologies including BeautifulSoup, Requests, Scikit-learn (TF-IDF), NLTK, and Hugging Face Transformers. The methodology involves fetching HTML content from user-specified URLs, extracting and cleaning text, computing TF-IDF scores to identify high-value keywords, and generating concise summaries using stateof- the-art language models. The processed information is stored efficiently in MongoDB, forming a structured knowledge base that can be queried and expanded dynamically. Additionally, a separate module categorizes hyperlinks by thematic relevance—such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or Quantum Computing—enabling a more organized and domain-aware exploration of scientific resources. Through this implementation, the project successfully demonstrates how artificial intelligence and natural language processing techniques can be combined to build an intelligent, research-oriented web crawler. The system not only achieves its objective of focused data extraction but also offers scalability for future integration with real-time academic databases and interactive search interfaces. Overall, Sci-Tech Web Crawler contributes meaningfully toward improving the accessibility, accuracy, and efficiency of scientific information retrieval in the modern digital era.

    Electricity theft detection
(AIKTC, 2026-06) Kazmi, Kashif; Kazi, Omeir Asim [22CO33]; Shaikh, Faizan [22CO46]; Shaikh, Qizarhayat [22CO56]; Shinde, Abhijeet [22CO58]
This project addresses the critical challenge of electricity theft in power distribution systems, which causes significant financial loss and grid instability. Given the scarcity of real-world labeled fraud data, the primary objective was to develop a robust detection system capable of identifying illicit consumption patterns using smart meter data. Methodology The objective was achieved through a multi-staged technical pipeline: Data Processing : Raw smart meter data (collected at 3-minute intervals) was aggregated into daily consumption windows. To overcome the lack of labeled data, we designed and injected realistic theft scenarios— including intermittent reduction, sustained drops, and partial manipulation— into the clean dataset. Feature Engineering: We extracted a comprehensive suite of behavioral features, such as day/night consumption ratios, rolling statistical variances, and ”low-usage streaks,” to capture deviations from normal consumer habits. Hybrid Ensemble Modeling: We implemented a two-layered classification architecture. A Supervised Layer (Random Forest and XGBoost) identifies known theft signatures, while an Unsupervised Anomaly Layer (Isolation Forest and Local Outlier Factor) detects novel or statistical outliers. Risk Categorization: Results are merged into a three-tier risk model: Normal, Suspicious, and High Risk.

(AIKTC, 2026-06) Kazi, Samreen Banu; Bronkar, Basheer [23DCO01]; Sayyed, Mohammad Kaif [22CO42]; Shaikh, Zaid [23DCO06]; Patel, Ahmed [22CO38]
This project presents a multi-layered security enhancement for Industrial Control Systems (ICS) by hardening the OpenPLC platform against contemporary cyber-attacks. The primary objective is to address the inherent security deficits in legacy industrial protocols, such as Modbus/TCP and DNP3, which traditionally lack native authentication and encryption. To achieve this, we engineered an integrated security suite comprising Time- Based One-Time Password (TOTP) Multi-Factor Authentication for the web management interface, an automated vulnerability auditing tool for system boot-up, and TLS 1.3 encryption for data transit. The methodology further incorporates a real-time Intrusion Detection System (IDS) using Snort to perform Deep Packet Inspection (DPI), specifically targeting unauthorized industrial command injections. This objective was successfully achieved, resulting in a controller appliance capable of resisting sophisticated network-based threats. Experimental evaluations demonstrate that the proposed framework successfully identifies 98 percent of unauthorized industrial commands and completely mitigates credentialbased attacks. Significantly, the system maintains high operational efficiency by introducing a negligible latency overhead of less than 5 milliseconds, ensuring that the critical timing requirements of real-time industrial processes are never compromised.

    Stock analysis and prediction website
(AIKTC, 2023-05) Mishra, Richa; Shaikh, Muhammad Huzaifa (18CO40); Bagdadi, Ameeruddin (19CO12); Khan, Raquib (19CO31); Qureshi, Mohammed Usman (19CO47)
In this project we attempt to implement machine learning approach to predict stock prices. Machine learning is effectively implemented in forecasting stock prices. The objective is to predict the stock prices in order to make more informed and accurate investment decisions. We propose a stock price prediction system that integrates mathematical functions, machine learning, and other external factors for the purpose of achieving better stock prediction accuracy and issuing profitable trades. There are two types of stocks. You may know of intraday trading by the commonly used term ”day trading.” Interday traders hold securities positions from at least one day to the next and often for several days to weeks or months. LSTMs are very powerful in sequence prediction problems because they’re able to store past information. This is important in our case because the previous price of a stock is crucial in predicting its future price. While predicting the actual price of a stock is an uphill climb, we can build a model that will predict whether the price will go up or down. Apart from that, we have included a stock analysis feature, which helps users to understand the performance of a particular stock, also it guides users to invest in a stock whose price would eventually rise up in the coming future, leading to profit gains.

Machine learning approach of price prediction
(AIKTC, 2023-05) Jamkhandikar, Irfan; Mohammad Farhan, (19CO38); Shaikh, Afsar Ahmed (19CO52); Thokan, Naveed Naushad (19CO60)
This paper presents a Laptop price prediction system by using the supervised machine learning technique. The research uses multiple linear regression as the machine learning prediction method which offered 85% prediction precision. Using multiple linear regression, there are multiple independent variables but one and only one dependent variable whose actual and predicted values are compared to find precision of results. This paper proposes a system where price is dependent variable which is predicted, and this price is derived from factors like Laptop’s model, RAM, ROM (HDD or SSD), GPU, CPU, IPS Display, and Touch Screen. Price prediction is a useful feature forconsumers as well as businesses. A price prediction tool motivates users to engage with a brand or evaluate offers in order to spend their money wisely. Price prediction enables businesses to set pricing in a manner that builds customer engagement and loyalty. With Machine Learning (ML) technology a price prediction problem is formulated as a regression analysis which is a statistical technique used to estimate the relationship between a dependent/target variable and single or multiple independent (interdependent) variables. In regression, the target variable is numeric. This project will focus on ML algorithm used for price prediction.
